In Ghana, experts at a high-level forum on resource governance have called for increased investment in research and greater transparency in managing Africa’s natural resources.
Executive Director of the Integrated Social Development Center, Sam Danse, noted that the continent’s limited investment in research continues to weaken its negotiating power in the extractive sector.
He emphasized that without evidence-based policies and transparent contracts, Africa risks perpetuating economic inequalities and missing out on the full benefits of its natural wealth.
The forum brought together policymakers, researchers, and civil society actors to discuss sustainable and equitable approaches to resource management.
