Togo’s government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening disaster risk reduction measures nationwide.
Speaking on October 13, during the observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection outlined new strategies to enhance community preparedness and response.
This year’s global theme, “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters,” underscores the importance of investing in prevention and sustainable recovery efforts.
Established by the United Nations in 1989, the day aims to raise awareness on how communities can better adapt and respond to natural and human-induced disasters.
