Mali has announced new visa restrictions for U.S. citizens, introducing a financial bond requirement in response to similar measures imposed by Washington.
According to Malian authorities, the decision—announced over the weekend—applies to certain categories of American travelers seeking entry into the country.
Bamako described the U.S. move as “unilateral and discriminatory”, saying the new policy is a reciprocal measure to ensure fairness in diplomatic relations between the two nations.
