Authorities in Guinea have launched an investigation into a deadly protest at a mining site in Niagassola, located in the country’s northeast.
The unrest, which erupted in early October, resulted in multiple deaths and widespread property damage. Several dozen individuals have already been charged with arson, theft, and murder in connection with the incident.
Officials say the probe aims to uncover the causes of the violence and bring those responsible to justice amid rising tensions in the nation’s mining regions.
