In our feature report, we take a closer look at the importance of intergenerational dialogue—a powerful tool for bridging gaps between the old and young.
According to UNICEF, one major challenge is the lack of safe, inclusive spaces where communities can engage in open, respectful conversations across generations. Add to that deep-rooted socioeconomic inequalities and ethnic divisions, and the result is often mistrust and disconnection—especially among the youth.
But when young people are equipped to understand, respect, and learn from older generations, it opens doors to empathy, unity, and collective progress.
In this report, WADR’s Abuja Correspondent, Usman Umar, explores the impact of generational diversity on youth in Nigeria and highlights how empowering them to challenge systems of oppression can lead to stronger, more connected communities.
