In Nigeria, non-academic staff of public universities staged a one-day nationwide protest on Thursday to press the government to meet their long-standing welfare demands.

Organized by the Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), the protest highlights growing frustration over what the unions describe as years of neglect by the Federal Government.

Union leaders have warned that the action could escalate if their grievances remain unresolved, urging authorities to address issues of salary arrears, allowances, and improved working conditions.
