In Mali, transitional leader General Assimi Goïta has dismissed eleven senior army officers for alleged acts of indiscipline and an attempt to destabilize the government.

The decision, announced Wednesday through a presidential decree, follows what authorities describe as a failed plot in August involving members of the armed and security forces.
