In Mali, transitional leader General Assimi Goïta has dismissed eleven senior army officers for alleged acts of indiscipline and an attempt to destabilize the government.
The decision, announced Wednesday through a presidential decree, follows what authorities describe as a failed plot in August involving members of the armed and security forces.
The move underscores ongoing tensions within Mali’s military ranks, amid broader efforts by the junta to tighten control and maintain stability in the country’s volatile political climate.
