ECOWAS Ministers have begun a special session in Abuja to review how statutory leadership positions are shared across West Africa.
The meeting, opened by ECOWAS Chairman and Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, aims to promote fairness, inclusivity, and regional balance in leadership appointments for the 2026–2030 term.
Officials say the deliberations will shape the next phase of institutional reform and regional cooperation within the bloc.
