Burkina Faso’s transitional government has arrested seven employees of the Dutch NGO INSO, including several French nationals, on charges of espionage.
According to Security Minister Mahamadou Sana, the individuals are accused of unlawfully gathering sensitive security information.
The arrests were announced during a press briefing on Tuesday, marking the latest in a series of measures by the junta to tighten control over foreign organizations operating in the country.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged activities.
