In Liberia, operations at the Government ELWA Hospital came to a halt on Monday as hundreds of health workers staged a protest over low wages and poor working conditions.
The demonstrators — including nurses, physician assistants, lab technicians, and support staff — accused hospital authorities of unfair treatment and mismanagement of donor funds.
They called on the government to address wage disparities and improve their working environment, warning that continued neglect could worsen healthcare delivery.
The protest highlights growing frustration within Liberia’s health sector, where workers say years of unfulfilled promises have left them overworked and underpaid.
