Health authorities in Senegal have confirmed 11 deaths from Rift Valley fever in the northern Saint-Louis region since the outbreak began on September 21.
The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene reports 78 confirmed cases so far, with Saint-Louis alone accounting for 75 cases, 45 of which have been declared cured. Richard-Toll and Saint-Louis districts remain the most affected.
Additional cases have also been reported in the Louga and Matam regions. Authorities say five mpox infections have also been detected since August, as health teams intensify efforts to contain both outbreaks.
