The Chadian Teachers’ Union (SET) has declared a week-long warning strike as the 2025–2026 academic year begins. The strike runs from October 1 to October 9, 2025.
Union leaders say the action is a response to the government’s failure to address longstanding demands for better welfare and improved working conditions.
According to SET, the strike is intended as a reminder to the state of its obligations toward teachers, who continue to face difficult circumstances.
The government has yet to issue an official response to the teachers’ action.
