In September, Senegal hosted a landmark event shaping the future of agriculture in Africa: the Africa Food Systems Forum 2025, held from August 31 to September 5 at the Centre International de Conference Abdou Diouf in Diamniadio, Senegal.
This summit brought together over 6,000 delegates — including heads of state, ministers, investors, researchers, and youth and women agripreneurs — to advance sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems across the continent.
Under the theme ‘Leading Collaboration, Innovation, and the Implementation of Agri-Food Systems Transformation’, participants focused on empowering youth and women, promoting climate-smart agricultural practices, adopting innovative technologies, and mobilizing investment to strengthen Africa’s food systems.
Key outcomes included strong commitments from governments, investors, and civil society to transform agricultural policies, enhance food security, and implement practical solutions for a resilient and sustainable future.
To explore the major highlights of the summit and what it means for Africa’s farmers, communities, and economies.
