Mali’s Supreme Court has convicted 17 people in connection with a high-profile procurement scandal worth $60 million under the regime of late former president Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.

Those charged include former ministers and senior military officers, following Thursday’s review by the Court’s Indictment Chamber. The case has now been referred to the Criminal Chamber of the National Economic and Financial Centre at the Court of Commune III in Bamako.
