In The Gambia, Trade Minister Baboucarr Joof has confirmed that 33 out of 39 migrants sent to Spain under a government circular migration program have absconded.
Speaking at a press briefing, Joof warned that their actions could jeopardize the future of the scheme, which was designed to provide legal employment opportunities abroad.
He revealed that 50 shortlisted candidates, who have already completed interviews, are now facing uncertainty as authorities reassess the program following the mass abscondment.
