In Ghana, an international trade expert is urging the Ministries of Trade and Foreign Affairs to intervene in the escalating dispute between Ghanaian and Nigerian spare parts traders at Abossey Okai.

The long-standing conflict, centered on the enforcement of Ghana’s retail trade laws, has recently led to the closure of shops owned by foreign nationals.

Stakeholders warn that without swift government action, the situation could escalate further, straining both community relations and bilateral ties between Ghana and Nigeria.
