In Nigeria, tragedy struck the village of Wake in Southern Kaduna State as bandits launched a deadly attack in the early hours of Sunday.

The assailants killed eight people, injured more than twenty others, and abducted several residents, plunging the community into fear and mourning.

The violence, which occurred in Kachia Local Government Area, is part of a rising wave of insecurity devastating rural communities across the region.
