In The Gambia, the National Assembly’s Special Select Committee has wrapped up a week-long inspection of assets linked to former President Yahya Jammeh.
The visits, conducted between September 1 and 4, 2025, took the lawmakers to various sites across the country where Jammeh’s properties are located.
The exercise forms part of the Committee’s broader inquiry into the sale and disposal of assets previously identified by the Janneh Commission, which investigated corruption and illicit enrichment under Jammeh’s rule.
Officials say the findings from the visits will feed into recommendations aimed at ensuring accountability and transparency in the handling of state-seized properties.
