Authorities in Burkina Faso have arrested attorney Ini Benjamine Esther Doli over a series of social media posts critical of the country’s leadership.
She faces charges of treason, insulting the Head of State, and demoralizing the armed forces, following remarks directed at Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s administration.
Her arrest has drawn sharp condemnation from the Burkinabé Bar Association, which described the move as arbitrary and a threat to freedom of expression.
The case comes amid heightened political tensions in the Sahel nation, where dissent is increasingly under scrutiny.
