The family of Ivorian cyber-activist Ibrahim Zigui has filed a kidnapping complaint following his sudden disappearance earlier this month.
Zigui, affiliated with the African Peoples’ Party – Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), was taken from his home on the night of September 1–2, 2025, by armed and hooded individuals. His whereabouts remain unknown.
Relatives have lodged a complaint against unidentified persons for kidnapping and unlawful detention, urging authorities to act swiftly.
The case has fueled growing concern among opposition supporters, who view Zigui’s disappearance as part of a broader climate of political tension ahead of the October presidential election.
