Senegal and France have agreed to renew their cooperation through a win–win partnership following a high-level meeting between President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.

The discussions focused on key sectors including health, IT, rail infrastructure, security, and defence as Senegal works to stabilize its economy.

With violence from armed groups threatening its borders, security cooperation featured prominently on the agenda.

Analysts say the agreement signals a strategic shift toward deeper collaboration to address both economic and security challenges.
