Tragedy struck Guinea’s Manéah commune as a massive landslide claimed at least 15 lives overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
Seventeen houses were buried under rubble, leaving several injured and dozens without shelter as rescue efforts raced against time to find survivors.
Rescue workers and volunteers have been on the scene since dawn, providing assistance and searching for those trapped under the debris.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Transitional Parliament visited the site, pledging government support for victims and affected families.
