In northwest Nigeria, the military says it has discovered more than 60 bodies of suspected armed bandits following a deadly air strike in Zamfara State.

The discovery comes as counter-terrorism operations intensify across the Central Sahel and neighbouring regions, where armed groups continue to menace rural communities.
