Two senior members of the opposition PPA-CI have been remanded in custody in Côte d’Ivoire on charges of terrorism and conspiracy against state authority.
Judicial authorities allege the pair are linked to the August 1 violence in Yopougon, Abidjan, which left political tensions running high.
The arrests come amid an already heated atmosphere ahead of the October 25 presidential election, with opposition parties accusing the government of targeting its rivals.
