In Ghana, two of the eight victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Ghana Armed Forces reported that the Z-9 helicopter, carrying three crew members and five passengers, went off radar shortly after departing Accra at 9 a.m. It was heading to Obuasi for an event addressing illegal mining when it crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District. A subsequent search-and-rescue mission confirmed there were no survivors.
