Despite progress in reducing maternal mortality globally, West Africa continues to face alarming disparities in maternal health outcomes.

Every day, hundreds of women in our region give birth. But not all of them survive the journey to motherhood. In fact, West Africa accounts for some of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. In countries like Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Mali, many women still face life-threatening complications during pregnancy and childbirth. But why is this happening?
