Liberia has commemorated 178 years of independence, reflecting on its journey through civil war, economic hardship, and public health crises.
Under the theme “One People, One Destiny: Healing the Past, Building the Future,” this year’s celebrations brought together citizens, leaders, and four African heads of state.
Held across Monrovia and beyond, the events combined national pride with a call to confront lingering challenges and build a more unified future for Africa’s oldest republic.
