Togo’s opposition parties are rejecting provisional results from the July 17 municipal elections, accusing the ruling party of manipulating the process.

The electoral commission (CENI) announced that Union for the Republic (UNIR) won 75% of the municipal seats, a figure that has sparked outrage among critics.

Over three million voters participated in the polls, which were monitored by observers who later issued recommendations to improve transparency in future elections.
