A court in Benin has ordered the confiscation of assets belonging to Olivier Boko and Oswald Homeky, both former allies of President Patrice Talon. The decision follows their conviction earlier this year.

The two were sentenced in January to 20 years in prison for conspiracy against state authority. Now, their bank accounts have been frozen and property seized as part of the enforcement process.

Boko and Homeky once held significant influence within the government, making the court’s action a major political development in Benin.

The case underscores growing efforts within the country to uphold accountability at the highest levels of power.
