Speaker of the Gambia National Assembly, Fabakary Tombong Jatta, has lauded the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties between The Gambia and Senegal.

His comments followed an official visit to Dakar, where he delivered the keynote address at the closing ceremony of Senegal’s 2024–2025 Ordinary Parliamentary Session.

Speaker Jatta emphasized that beyond formal diplomacy, parliamentary collaboration can foster deeper mutual understanding, policy alignment, and regional stability.

He also reaffirmed Banjul’s commitment to working closely with Dakar to advance shared goals through legislative cooperation and regional unity.
