In this edition of the programme, we will be discussing Neglected Tropical Diseases, or NTDs — a group of diseases that continue to affect millions of people in West Africa, particularly in impoverished and rural communities.
NTDs include illnesses like schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis), onchocerciasis (river blindness), soil-transmitted worms, and leprosy. Though preventable and treatable, they often don’t get the attention or funding they need.
