In Guinea-Bissau, a nationwide strike by education, health, and justice sector unions is entering its second week, crippling public services. The protest, led by doctors at the main hospital in Bissau, stems from unpaid salaries spanning 17 months.

The Guinea-Bissau Human Rights League has expressed deep concern over the prolonged disruption, warning that citizens are being denied essential services. Bubacar Turé, president of the organization, is urging both government officials and union leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue.

With tensions rising and public frustration growing, Turé stresses that immediate talks are the only path to a sustainable solution that restores access to healthcare, education, and justice for all.
