The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) has suspended its nationwide strike following crucial discussions with Parliament’s Health Committee. The strike, which disrupted healthcare services nationwide, was in protest against delays in implementing nurses’ and midwives’ Conditions of Service.

GRNMA President Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo announced the decision at a press briefing in Accra, citing public appeals and Parliament’s timely intervention. Throughout the strike, patients were left stranded as hospitals struggled to maintain critical services.

The association is now urging the government to act swiftly on their demands and show greater respect for the nursing profession.
