Togo has received a major financial boost from the World Bank, securing a $300 million envelope to transform its agricultural sector.
The grant, announced on Wednesday, will go towards strengthening the country’s Agricultural Modernization Program, known as Promat. The initiative is structured in two equal phases over a 10-year period and aims to improve productivity, sustainability, and food security.
Authorities in Lomé say the funding marks a significant step in modernizing farming techniques and increasing economic opportunities for rural communities.
