Togo’s Defense and Security Forces (FDS) have neutralized several armed militants during a major operation in Kpikankandi, Kpendjal prefecture, on the night of June 8.

The offensive, conducted in the Savanes region, thwarted a looming threat to civilians and led to the seizure of weapons and motorcycles used by the attackers.

Authorities credit the operation’s success to ongoing government support, which has helped strengthen the FDS with better equipment and strategic backing.

This marks a significant victory against growing jihadist threats in Togo’s northern border areas.
