Liberia is seeing a rise in Mpox cases, with 69 active infections confirmed as of May 31, 2025, according to the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL). Fortunately, no deaths have been recorded so far.
The institute has introduced new safety measures and is urging citizens to avoid close contact with symptomatic individuals, practice good hygiene, and seek medical help at the first sign of illness.
Founded in 2016, NPHIL says it is on high alert and committed to preventing further spread as it monitors the situation closely.
