At the 50th anniversary celebration of ECOWAS in Lagos, Commission President Dr. Omar Alieu Touray called on member states to recommit to the bloc’s founding principles of unity, peace, and regional integration.
Speaking ahead of the high-level event, Dr. Touray emphasized that these values remain crucial as West Africa faces rising political and economic challenges.
With leaders gathered in the city where ECOWAS was born in 1975, the message from Lagos was clear—renewed solidarity is key to the region’s future.
