Liberia’s House of Representatives has summoned key ministries over the increasing presence of Burkinabé nationals in forest regions.
The move follows reports from Nimba, Bong, Maryland, and Grand Gedeh counties, where locals raised alarm about foreign settlements.
Representative Anthony Williams, who tabled the motion, warned of environmental and security risks tied to the undocumented influx.
Lawmakers now seek answers on immigration control and the government’s response to the growing public concern.
