The Alliance of Sahel States (AES) has introduced a 0.5% levy on imports from non-member countries to ensure independent funding.

Exemptions apply to humanitarian aid, diplomatic goods, and regional products.

Funds will support integration projects and a future Confederal Bank for Investment and Development.
