In the Sahel, around 65 per cent of the active population works in the agriculture sector and their livelihoods are therefore affected by climate change, markets and environmental factors above all insecurity.
Research and testimonies indicate that recurring crises pose real concerns for the achievement of sustainable food and nutrition security in the region where more than half of those affected are women.
However, are there endogenous solutions to food insecurity whose triggers remain complex and multidimensional?
This week’s edition attempts to provide answers.
