Nigeria has been officially recognized as the newest partner country in the multinational BRICS group, Brazil’s government announced.

As Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria’s inclusion strengthens the alliance of emerging market countries. Brazil, currently holding the bloc’s rotating presidency, noted that Nigeria shares converging economic and strategic interests with other member nations.
