Nigeria repatriates 390 stranded citizens from Niger Republic

The Nigerian government has repatriated 390 citizens stranded in Niger Republic, marking the third batch of voluntary returns since 2024.

The returnees 387 adult males, two adult females, and one infant—arrived at the Nigeria Immigration Training School in Kano early Tuesday morning.

Facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the operation underscores efforts to reintegrate displaced citizens. Federal Commissioner Tijjani Ahmed reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reintegration and sustainable solutions during a reception for the returnees.

Returnees were registered and profiled to access reintegration support programs aimed at addressing migration challenges.
