The Gambian government has intensified efforts to implement the recommendations of the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC), reaffirming its commitment to transitional justice.

So far, 16 recommendations have been fully executed, with over 190 out of 263 currently in progress. This renewed momentum aligns with ECOWAS’ approval of a special tribunal, an initiative strongly championed by President Adama Barrow during discussions with fellow heads of state.

The government’s actions demonstrate a significant stride toward addressing past injustices and promoting national reconciliation.
