President-elect John Dramani Mahama has embarked on a diplomatic tour to bolster relations with neighboring countries, visiting Benin, Togo, and Nigeria.
In Benin, Mahama held discussions with President Patrice Talon, focusing on enhancing economic and political collaboration. His next stop was Togo, where he met President Faure Gnassingbé to explore avenues for strengthened cooperation.
The tour concluded in Nigeria with a meeting between Mahama and President Bola Tinubu, Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State. The leaders discussed shared priorities for regional growth and stability, emphasizing unity within ECOWAS.
President-elect Mahama also extended an invitation to President Tinubu to attend his inauguration on January 7, 2025, marking a step toward deeper regional ties.
