In Guinea, Dr. Mohamed Diané, a former Minister of Defense and Presidential Affairs under ex-President Alpha Condé, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses.
The court also imposed a fine of 5 billion Guinean francs (approximately $575,000) and ordered Dr. Diané to pay 500 billion GNF (about $57.5 million) in damages to the Guinean state.
In addition, the ruling mandated the confiscation of his assets, which will be transferred to the state. This marks a significant development in Guinea’s efforts to combat corruption and financial misconduct.
