Ghana’s Electoral Commission has officially declared John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner of the 2024 General Elections.

The former president defeated eleven other candidates, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), to reclaim leadership.

This victory marks a historic return for Mahama, who first served as Ghana’s president from 2013 to 2016, before losing the 2016 elections to President Nana Akufo-Addo. His triumph in the 2024 polls highlights a renewed mandate from Ghanaians as he prepares to lead the nation once again.
