Former First Lady Simone Ehivet Gbagbo has officially announced her candidacy for Côte d’Ivoire’s 2025 presidential election under the banner of the Mouvement des Générations Capables (MGC).

During the party’s inaugural convention in Moossou, her hometown near Abidjan, Gbagbo expressed her vision to build a “new Côte d’Ivoire.” Her nomination marks a significant step as the race for the presidency gains momentum in the months ahead.
