The Nigerian Senate has called on the military to intensify efforts against the newly identified terror group, the Lakurawa, which has been causing unrest in the Northwestern region.

During a plenary session on Wednesday, lawmakers urged the military to work closely with local communities to establish effective early warning systems, aiming to prevent future attacks and enhance regional security.

The Senate also commended the military for its swift response to recent attacks by the group, emphasizing the need for sustained vigilance and collaboration to curb the group’s activities and protect vulnerable communities.
