Opposition parties in Côte d’Ivoire are urging the government to further extend the voter registration period to accommodate more citizens.
The registration exercise, initially set for October 19 to November 10, was extended to November 17 following a government decree. Despite this, opposition groups argue that the current extension is inadequate to ensure widespread participation in the electoral process, citing logistical challenges and delays in registration centers.
The opposition believes an extended timeline is essential to uphold the inclusivity and credibility of the electoral roll ahead of the next elections.
