Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has confirmed the rise of a new terrorist group, known as ‘Lukarawas,’ operating in the country’s northwest. 

Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed the group’s emergence following military disruptions between Nigeria and Niger after a recent coup in Niger.
